Today, we're testing the E-stop and Soft-Stop for our project. With just a few days until the final, we need reliable braking control. We've installed relays to short the BLDC motor coils through a braking resistor. We'll demonstrate these tests using 1 Ohm and 0 Ohm resistors (shorting the motor over 1 meter of 1.5 mm² wire). The relays are 90 Amp automotive types, and the motor is a 1000 Watt BLDC driven by a 48V source. Testing is nerve-wracking as we have no spare equipment, and any damage could prevent us from reaching the finals after months of hard work. Update 10-6-2024 Fontys ICT
